Brook was anxious to get started and I wasn't about to hold her back. She created a short web-based activity about bats and wanted to begin with the students on Wed. I had her send it to me as a Word attachment and I posted it in her folder on starw.org.
It's a great start and a way of showing some next steps. I did some quick searching and created a hotlist about bats on Web-and-Flow.

This can serve as resources for Brook and other teachers to extend the activity across science, reading, and writing, but is still just a start.
What I would like to be able to do is to help the teachers build more scaffolding and higher order thinking into the activities the create by introducing them to Tom March's theories and tools during the January training.
Brook created a simple hunt. I created a hotlist for open exploration or as a resource for teachers. The next steps would be to use selected links to create a Knowledge hunt that guides the students through the acquisition of specific factual knowledge that will lead them to synthesize their knowledge to answer an broader question.
