Introduction to Activities The examples used here are the same examples used when I wrote this lesson. No, I'm not too lazy to update them. I simply decided it would be a good idea to let you compare the searches of yesterday with the searches of today. Although search results would be different today than yesterday, the differences between search engines is still similar. We will take a look at the four most popular search tools being used on Internet during the summer of 1995 and examine how each one retrieved information on the topics of CHESS and TEENAGE DRIVING. After examining the similarities and differences that existed in the "good old days", you may want to do a similar search using today's version of the search tools. Before examining the searches, let's take a quick look at the four search tools. As you read about each one, you may
want to travel to their sites and take a peek, but make the visit short and return here to continue the lesson. |
