Manipulating and Expanding Hierarchical Bookmarks Arrange Alphabetically
- Your three folders should be ENGLISH, HISTORY, and SCIENCE
- Go to any search engine and add some additional folders and bookmarks on any topic of your choosing.
- Click on the Item menu and select Sort Bookmarks. If Item appears gray and is inactive, just click on any folder and it should appear black and active. This will alphabetize all folders and
bookmarks.
- You may also arrange things using the drag and drop method.
Export and Open as Netscape Page
- Export the bookmarks, saving them as SUBJECTS.HTML or whatever you named them.
- Close the bookmark window.
- Go up to the File menu in Netscape and select, Open File
- Naviagate to the folder where you just exported the bookmarks and Open the file you just exported. (SUBJECTS.HTML)
- The bookmarks now appear as a page in Netscape. This page is not permanent. It will only be available during your current session.
- If you want to use it in another session you will have to use Open File again.
Bookmarking Your Bookmarks Suppose you have saved a variety of bookmarks using different names such as SCHOOL.HTML, WORK.HTML, FUN.HTML. You can use the above method to each one in Netscape. As you open each one,
you can bookmark it. The result will be a master bookmark set containing all of your other bookmarks. When you start to get comfortable with all of this you well realize there are other things you can do with bookmarks. [ Previous ] [ Next ] |
